Everything you need to know before subscribing to Genesis.

Genesis runs entirely inside Unreal Engine, removing the need to round-trip through external tracking applications. This means faster iteration, fewer failure points, and a workflow that stays aligned with real-time and/or virtual filmmaking. Genesis uses a robust algorithm which tracks thousands of feature points to solve camera poses and reconstruct a detailed mesh of the environment, making the solve extremely precise and the VFX process simple.
No. Genesis is designed for natural-feature tracking. It uses real-world visual context in your footage rather than relying on physical markers.
Genesis works best with footage that includes parallax and environmental detail. Handheld, gimbal, dolly, crane, drone, and even tripod shots all work well as long as there is sufficient scene context.
Yes — as long as sufficient context is provided. Like any match move system, Genesis requires parallax to solve depth. What makes Genesis unique is that you can add parallax/context to the beginning or end of a completely static shot and the algorithm will back-trace feature points to solve camera poses — even during completely static parts of the shot.
Genesis automatically calculates lens distortion and applies it to your CG camera to match your footage. Alternatively, you can choose to have Genesis ignore distortion during the solve if you've already undistorted your footage. Additional lens distortion support is in active development. Upcoming updates include STMap workflows, better anamorphic solves, and deeper integration with external lens calibration pipelines.
Genesis currently supports Unreal Engine 5.7 on Windows. Supported versions are updated as new engine releases are validated.
Yes. Solves generated by Genesis work with Path Tracer, Lumen, and Movie Render Queue, allowing you to render final-quality shots directly inside Unreal.
Absolutely. While you can composite directly in Unreal using Composure, you can also export CG passes for use in Fusion, Nuke, After Effects, or any other compositing software. The included training covers best practices for rendering from Unreal.
Accuracy depends primarily on footage quality and scene context, but Genesis is designed to produce film-ready camera solves suitable for CG integration, lighting interaction, and shadow matching. As long as there are sufficient feature points and parallax, you can expect a rock-solid track.
Yes. Genesis includes tools for scene orientation and scale matching, allowing you to align your Unreal scene accurately with real-world measurements.
Solve times vary based on footage length, resolution, and reconstructed mesh quality, but Genesis is optimized for fast iteration compared to traditional offline tracking workflows. Tracking a 10-second clip at 1080p resolution (recommended) usually takes about 10–15 minutes using base reconstruction mesh quality. Results will vary depending on your hardware.
Both. Beginners can achieve reliable results without deep tracking knowledge, while professionals gain speed, control, and Unreal-native integration that traditional tools don't offer.
Genesis is designed to provide everything you need for match moving and scene reconstruction, regardless of your pipeline. While it is based in Unreal Engine, you can easily export your tracking scene to other 3D programs if you prefer to work elsewhere. This is covered in the included training.
Yes. Genesis includes full training covering capture guidelines, solving, scene alignment, rendering, and basic compositing tips.
Genesis is under active development. Updates, refinements, and new features are released regularly and included automatically while your subscription is active.
